Losing weight even though its my TOM. But I had a mini plateau during my ovulation week. Anyone else experiencing the same thing?

I notice it about a week before TOM. I can usually expect about three pounds or so but this time it was close to 10!

I just drank more water and ate less salt which is really hard for me.

Pretty much what she said above a female can gain up to 10lbs around their menstrual cycle.
  • Well that blows! I've been on the pill for 11 years so I haven't really seen changes like that. I just stopped taking it this month to see if not being on it makes a difference in my weight loss... I guess I'll have to keep an eye on weight gain during my TOM. Ahhh learning new things everyday.

Ovulation is just like a mini PMS for me...bloating, weight gain and crazy emotions. Then wait a week and a half and real PMS starts, so yeah i feel you!

I usually go up around a pound the day I ovulate. That's one of the reasons I'm glad I weigh every day, it has helped me to see the trend.
  • I track my cycle with the my days app and on the start of my "fertile" days I slowly begin to retain water...all the way up till the day I ovulate and then it flushes out in the 2 days after my days says I ovulated (plus I feel myself ovulate so I know lol but I started tracking my cycle so I could physically see when ovulation was coming and would know it was gonna be a bad week lol....most women do lose weight also on the TOM bc the retain most the water associated with the actual TOM the week before it starts and then the day they start it begins to flush out so they loose water and fat so its like a huge drop sometimes. Myself personally I retain water the whole week of ovulation (2 to 3 pounds) then it flushes after I ovulate and I begin retaining a few days before TOM I swell up again and unfortunately mine stays a few days into TOM but then flushes again

No loss and even some gain is totally normal at ovulation and happens to tons of women...but geeez its annoying
