I was wondering for people who have lost 100+ lbs how you achieved your goal? How many calories/day did you eat? How many days a week did you exercise, and how many calories did u burn in each workout session? I am currently eating around 1800 calories a day, exercising 5 days a week at around 500-800 calories per workout session.. wondering if this is good? Thanks!!!
EDIT: sorry, I would love to hear anyone's advice! if you have been successful at losing weight at all, I would love to hear how you did it!

I maintained a calorie deficit.
Find out your TDEE, and maintain a deficit of 20%. You can maintain a higher deficit while you still have a good deal of weight to lose, but the closer you come to your goal, the smaller your deficit should become.
I don't know your stats, so I can't responsibly recommend a certain caloric intake for you. I currently eat anywhere from 1600-2300 calories a day, depending on my activity level/appetite. I'm technically at goal, but I'm still in a deficit in order to lower my BF%.
Also, you should really seek the advice of anyone who has lost weight, not just people who have lost more than 100 pounds. Speaking from experience, it was much harder to lose the last 20-15 lbs than it was to lose 100 lbs.0 -
Yeah, it isn't about what any of us did.. it's about what you're doing.
I ate at a calorie deficit and started exercising. It was walking at first, then jogging, then running. Slow progression, obviously, but it helped a lot.
Just keep eating healthy, at a calorie deficit, and get some exercise mixed in.. but do it at a pace that is able to be maintained. If you can live with working out 7 days a week for the rest of your life, rock on. I can't. I do 3 days at the gym with a mix of cardio and heavy lifting, then typically run on Saturday or Sunday for a good while. That's really it. There aren't any secrets.0 -
What both of them said...
caloric deficit ....
at the end of the day, no matter what you do and how you choose to do it....in order to do this you absolutely MUST have a caloric deficit
exercise is always great and the more active you are the better. But at the heart of it, consistent caloric deficit is where it's at.0 -
I am pretty sure I passed 100lbs about 10-20lbs ago, but my scale was maxed out and I never got weighed properly so I just have set my starting weight to one over the max my scale would show.
I eat 2400+ calories per day. If I'm still hungry, I go over - I won't go to bed hungry. I eat back most of my exercise calories, as monitored by a Polar FT7.0 -
I have lost over 115lbs and I kept it off. I lost through nutrition, weight training, and cardio.0

^^^ALL of this^^^ and I love the part of it being harder to lose the last 15 to 20 pounds. I used to roll my eyes when I had over 100 pounds to lose and someone would complain about needing to lose 10. I swear to you that it was fairly easy for me to drop 100 pounds but these last 15 to 20 are kicking my *kitten*.0 -
Eating at my BMR and exercise cals back I eat around 1800-2300 cals a day and exercise whenever I can0

You will see and feel results, but don't expect them in a linear fashion. I lost a metric buttload of weight when I first started.. and now that it is slowing down, it can be frustrating. Just stick with your plan and reevaluate the calories you need every so often.0 -

100% this. I dropped a lot at first (the bigger you are the faster you fall kinda thing) and then it slowed down. Definitely NOT linear.0
