Hey Everyone!
I'm in charge of bringing treats for my son's Christmas party. He's in 2nd grade. I want it to be healthy. There is 1 little boy with diabetes. Any suggestions?

Can treats be savory or do you mean sweets?
I know my nieces and nephews love hummus and other dips. Serve with whole grain crackers, pretzels or cut up veggies. I know some schools are crazy about nut bans but if yours isn't, these are great:

You could always do dark chocolate covered fruits... Not sure how that will fit in with the child who has diabetes, but it'd sure beat what most people bring to things like that.0

I made cheese squares and grape tomato kababs once, kids love things on sticks, I used the "fancy" toothpicks with the little cellophane decoration on them. I think I could put 2 tomato and 2 squares of cheese on those.
Yes, hummus and chips/pita/pretzels are usually good too.
Look on Pinterest for "strawberry santa" for an fun idea, looks a little labor intensive. Someone had posted it here, however in that thread the image has been deleted. Of course I know for some schools santa is off limits...well you could check anyway. Good luck.0 -
Sugar free Jello with Haribo is an awesome treat, if buy some small molds for setting (most are fairly cheap) they'll look great.

I teach kindergarten, and yes, kids love kabobs. You could put squares of cheese and fruit on them, and they will love them!
Other ideas:
*cut up fruit and dip (made with greek yogurt, some cream cheese and brown sugar) They love to dip things too!
*cheese and crackers (if you cut the cheese into shapes with cookie cutters, they love shaped things as well)
*make your own "fruit pizza"--bagel half spread with cream cheese, then put out a fruit "bar" and they come through buffet style and put on their own toppings.
If you check out sites like Pinterest there are probably dozens of other cute ideas as well.0
