lots of meat for fat loss?

a bit of my story first of all:
long story short, i have a lot of knowledge about food and nutrition. i know it's not as simple as calories in < calories out. macronutrients matter.. and i know how terrible carbs are for fat loss. i've done all of this before, and i've had great resuls (some pictures of a few months ago: http://i1263.photobucket.com/albums/ii622/blangdon1011/WP_000996.jpg, http://i1263.photobucket.com/albums/ii622/blangdon1011/WP_000980.jpg, http://i1263.photobucket.com/albums/ii622/blangdon1011/WP_000822.jpg, http://i1263.photobucket.com/albums/ii622/blangdon1011/WP_000821.jpg)
but, unfortunatley, life threw a massive curve ball at me, and i've been thrown back.. all the way back. my measurements are the same as when i started.
* just a note.. please, pleeaaasse dont tell me "i could have found a way around it, and continued going". i really couldn't have. my life was about 95% out of my control.. and that was a extremely hard time for me.
i know it sucks more than anything.. but, all i can do is pick myself up.. because i obvioulsy know i can do this again :)

so.. my question!:
i've cut my carbs from approximatley 150g per day to approximatley 55g per day (i carb cycle, so every day is different, these are just averages). i replace my carb calories with fat calories, and in order to do this, i eat a lot of red meats and eggs (like, seriously about 4 eggs a day), and for my main carb intake, i eat veggies, whole grain rice, and whole grain oatmeal. no rice, and no bread. i was just wondering if any of you have had a successful transformation while eating a lot of meats (ex. chicken hearts, lean steaks/steak strips, chicken, and fish).
i know it'll work for me, but i'm just wondering if anyone else does this.. and if so, could you show pictures of your results? :)

Low/er carbs works for many people, it's more satiating for them, but ultimately it's the amount of food you put in your mouth.

I did Atkins years ago, and it totally worked for me. I couldn't sustain it though, and I worry about eating that much meat now. Had a dietician tell me that too much protein can be hard on the kidneys. You will get a variety of opinions, I say do your research, weigh the pros and cons of your plan, and if you are satisfied with it, then go for it.

if you have got the results that you want before, i am not sure why you're asking?

    plus i like carbs!

i am reducing bodyfat on around 200g Carbs per day (my macros are 40/30/30)
  • I was on Ketogenic diet for the first few months of my diet, and the weight flew off at a pretty fast rate.
I only kept it up for about the first 3 months because of cost, I couldn't afford all the damn protein but it was actually pretty easy, I rarely ever craved carbs as much as I thought I would.

Before picture is on my profile.

for about 10 days i was under my calorie and fat goals but still had no weight loss, so i started doing low carbs about 30-60 daily but still under the fat allowence for the day, im eating mostly chicken and fish and after 3 days lost almost 2 lbs. carbs are my enemy lol this is the only thing that has worked for me.

Actually it REALLY IS as simple as calories in v calories out. Now for certain people whom might have sensitivities to certain types of food, things are complicated because certain types of foods make it more difficult. But it still comes down to calories in v calories out. If you have the will power to eat nothing but 1700 calories of twinkies and that is 20% below your TDEE, you will lose weight(fat and muscle probably).

In general, lean meat is very satiating for the it's number of calories. Plus it's loaded with high quality protein. So it's definitely a great food to eat while trying to burn fat and spare muscle. Just make sure that you're eating plenty of veggies too!

this is how i keep em so low, by eating so much meat and fish, which both have zero carbs ^_^

different macronutrients have different effects on the body. they are obviously differently shaped, and play different roles in the body. sure, for an extremely overweight person, just running a calorie deficit would make them lose weight, seems they have so much fat for the body to feed off of. but for someone who's at an average/leaner weight, who's trying to burn just fat, and not hard earned muscle, yes, the macronutrients DO matter, and it's not as simple and calories in < calories out.
i've seen several people stay at the same weight, and even gain weight by eating terribly, but staying below their calories, because they burn their muscle while packing on the fat, which in turn, also changes the body composition for the worse.
