I wear it on my butt when I need some shock therapy. Nope, it's a scam.

do either of you have one? i do...IT WORKS you just have to use it every day. the results are so impressive i actually started using mine twice a day, once on upper and 2nd time on lower abs. it has multiple programs with a large range of intensity settings. some programs can also really tone the obliques.it REALLY WORKS.

im actually still wearing it. i am using program 5 at level 60 on lower abs after 30min of program 7 at level 75 on upper.

Involuntary contraction of muscle ISN'T the same as voluntary contractions. You got taken. Like all gimmicks, it's usually for people who are desperate and unsatisfied with weight loss at a slower pace.

it uses the exact same principal as the electro-muscle stimulation i underwent on my leg during physical therapy from knee surgery. So my pt was taken too? i am saying i can see and fee the results, so can people who have seen my abs. never before in my life have i had any sort of oblique shape. Also, i notice the lack of definition if i go on vacation and dont get to use it for a week or more. it tones and strengthens the stomach muscles which does provide for a slightly leaner look and somewhat looser fitting pants. i don't feel taken at all. i'm sorry you feel that way, i am only speaking from my personal experience with the device for over a year now.

i believe my weight loss has been going at a good pace and so have my strength gains. but thanks for generalizing.

    No, and no.
  • I bought one to use while I was doing cardio lol. Problem is it won't go around my waist! Which seems ironic. Oh well one day :)

What does this have to do with either Fitness or Exercise?
  • What does this have to do with either Fitness or Exercise?

Its has the desired effect that both of these also strive for!

    Don't be so mean! :)

That's my point...................electrostimulation is for PHYSICAL THERAPY. It assists and stimulates muscle to bring it back to normal function.
If electrostimulation was all that was needed to "work out" any part of the body, then exercise wouldn't be needed. You could just sit at your desk all day and get a workout while wearing one. Oh wait, that's what they are trying to promote.

I'm saying if it's the ONLY thing you used while dieting and no other exercise, then maybe you can attribute it to the change, however if you're doing more than just wearing the Slendertone (like running, lifting weights, etc.) then I'm more than sure that's where the change happened.

i have been doing plenty of diet and exercise, but even 30 lbs ago i noticed the specific difference in my stomach from using it. i know it seems super gimmicky, and i do crunches, machine crunches, planks, leg lifts etc...and my stomach feels tighter and more firm and shows more definition from the belt then any of these.

what's funny, would i recommend it to someone who isnt erercising and just sits around...not a chance, but if you are losing weight and working out, and you can spend an additional hour a day toning your stomach while you cook dinner or watch tv or write a grad paper (all personal experiences with the product), you will notice the difference. i did get a lil snookered, as i liked the ab belt so much i bought the arms one...that one is a joke and i'll do dropset 21's with my selectechs anyday...but the ab belt is seriously no joke...

    1.) he sells it
2.) he's actually lost from diet/exercise attributes it to scam
    3.) he's trollin

Okay, so STOP doing the ab exercises, and use JUST the device for a couple months, then get back to us. That's the only way to determine whether it is actually the cause of your improvement.

i started using the belt well over a year ago, before my stomach had enough definition to merit ab exercises...(and honestly i hate doing em, i only do em like once a week cause the belt works so well). and using the belt has drastically increaded the endurace i have when i do crunches/lifts etc.

i don't sell these things btw, i actually own two, because i bought the active model that has 3 additional programs and goes up to intensity 130 being so satisfied with the flex model after using it for 8 months. It's worth EVERY CENT.

also a side note, costco sells these, and they have the BEST return policy in the business and fully stand behind everything they sell, if it didn't work they wouldn't still sell em cause too many people would return it..

I had something similar a long time ago, and while I could feel a little twitch in my abs while wearing it, it didn't do anything significant, other than irritate my skin. I threw it out and I stick to real core exercises now.

Electronic muscle stimulation works on weak, injured, or otherwise strained muscles to restore them to basic normal function. If you put mild current through sound, healthy muscles, all you do is make them twitch. It doesn't really work them much.

Dude. Seriously. Stop spewing this stuff. Someone may believe you. Please before buying anything related to fitness, or posting about them, ask yourself these simple questions:

Does it seem like there's very little or no work involved, but great results?
Am I looking for an excuse not to actually exert any effort?
Does this seem like it just might be a shortcut?

If you answered yes to any of them, don't buy it. There are not shortcuts. Eat better work out more. No excuses, no silver bullet, no magic milkshake.

And longtimeterp - I'd love to see a picture of your "obliques". This is one area we all have pretty well developed, they're just under a layer of fat. I work very hard, eat mostly clean, and you can just make mine out. I don't know your angle on this, but stop screwing with people and give them real information and real motivation.

My husband had one. We just threw it away cos it didn't work for him. Adding extra protein to his diet and weights to his workout did though.

I had a female friend at university who had one and she liked it. She was superfit, had some definition to start with as she had really low bodyfat. She said it added an extra something on top of the diet and exercise programme she followed. She was kind of an insane fanatic about things though.
