New to Dieting

Hi all, my name is Liz, I'm 44 have 3 children and 3 step children; however, they are all grown and go to college. This is my first time trying a diet, but I honestly don't see it as a diet but instead a way of eating healthier and shedding these much unneeded and unwanted pounds. I weighed in with my Dietician at 209 and a week later I was at 213 and feeling very disappointed and could not understand why. I am 4'11" and I should be weighing about 115 to 120lbs....yeah get real. My goal at this time is to lose at least 50lbs within the next 6 months. I have been tracking and logging my food daily, I'm taking in 1300 or less of calories and I'm really not finding it difficult to stay away from junk foods. However, I did quit smoking at the same time and that has been the hardest for me. I am looking for friends that could provide me with words of encouragement and help keep me on track especially with my quitting smoking.
