$50 on a $3 scratcher
$247 at a casino (by putting just a 20 in the machine)
$300 designer denim shopping spree from a magazine sweepstakes (in total, I've won around $600 in goodies from this mag over the past year, and no I won't say which one since I don't want the entry pool to increase )0 -
Greatest single amount was $100 on a $1 scratcher. Happened about 2-3 times in 10 years. Only play scratchers a couple times a year.
Greatest "return" was $77 for a 25 cent bingo game. Since I used my own money, my mom let me keep all the money. Don't remember my exact age (single digit) but I remember counting the money (all singles) for 2-3 hours. Organized over and over again by mint letter (e.g. 'E' for Richmond), later by serial #, another time by mint date... I was friggin' obsessed.
I bought a few token groceries (egg, bread, cold cuts) to surprise Mom. I spent about $30 for a wooden basketball backboard for backyard (fiberglass was better, but would've cost $90). The rest when in the piggy back.
I remember it like it was... yesterday.... yesterday... yesterday <cue flashback music>0 -

My dad often likes to tell this story as it's his favorite. I was 8 years old and having one of those dreams that caused me to sit up and talk in my sleep (creepy, I know). I startled my parents awake who came to check on me. Apparently, I was arguing with my teacher about the "number 47" that she wanted me to erase from my notebook because it was incorrect. According to my dad, I was insistent and refused to erase this "47" because I was SURE it was right. My dad says he turned to my mom, quirked an eyebrow and suggested they play the number at one of those local bodega lotteries where the main number wins you the most money. Well, it worked. He won $10,000 dollars and we moved apartments and I acquired my NES :bigsmile:0

I bet on sports online...only bet 5-10 bucks a game though.
I noticed one day they had a casino at the same site I use. I went in it with $20 bucks, played blackjack, a buck a hand for about 34 seconds before I was already down to my last 50 cents.
So, then navigated to a slot machine on the site, put the 50 cents in...and before I pressed the button, I heard my brother come in so I called him and said "watch me lose my last 50 cents". Pressed it - Hit three red stars (I think) - total payout $690, would have been $2 grand if I had another quarter to "max it out".
I cashed $600 out of the account instantly (well after a "site review" that took like 20 minutes) and haven't been back in the casino part since.0 -
I won $150 on a Powerball ticket last year.0

This wasn't money, but it's the most valuable thing I've won. I won a set of tickets twice by answering trivia on a theater promoter's facebook page. Once for 'Burn the Floor' and once for 'Avenue Q' they were decent seats both times, so I guess they were worth a few hundred.0
