I'm logging everything I eat and although I'm over some days I'm under on other so hadnt been thinking too much of it. I'm also exercising 5 days a week averaging about 30km of jogging at 10km/hour and two 45minute weight sessions in the gym. I'm feeling fitter than I have in a long time, and I can see my body changing shape but the weights just not coming off - The last two weeks I havent lost any weight and its really frustrating!

Grumble over, just needed to rant rather than reach for the snacks......back to work!

I'd feel good if I were you! Clearly you must be adding muscle and losing fat and you know this, since you can see the changes. I've seen and heard many people over the years say it and its true- ignore the scale, focus on your health. Sounds like you're doing it right!!!

How much are you eating? Over and under how much? Do you eat back your exercise calories? How much weight are you trying to lose? What are your macros?

My basic allowance is 1600. I do eat my exercise calories. I'm trying to lose 1.5lbs/week (total loss of 20lbs - so far I've lost 6lbs)

I'm so glad you asked these questions because it made me go back and look at all of my daily intakes, and where I thought it evened out it turns out that over the last two weeks I've actually had 1088 calories more than I should have done.....Looks like what I really need to do is not whine and actually pay closer attention to what I'm doing :ohwell:

have you just bumped your exercise recently? could be your muscles retaining water?

    Does that happen?

Yes, general activity about 4 weeks ago (the same time as I started logging my food on here), and then 2 weeks ago I started increasing my running alot in preparation for a half marathon in January and a full marathon in March.

It's very, VERY hard to lose weight while training for a half marathon. I've done it twice. Even with a caloric deficit of just 290 calories/day on average I lost 20 lbs over 7 months but 4.6 lbs of it was lean mass. YOu can't create a 1500 calorie/day deficit while doing half marathon training. I recommend setting your goal to .5 lbs/week for the duration. You'll get there, but you have to do it slower. It will be worth it in the long run. Also, be sure to eat enough protein - aim for 1g per pound of lean body mass as a minimum.
