It really does amaze me at how different brands of clothing can be so different on their sizing. A size 6 at Abercrombie & fitch is a size 4 at Victoria Secret. (I'm not 100% on that just a general example of what I mean. lol.)

I think its wrong that its ok and allowed for different brands to manufacture their size differently. How are women suppose to really know there true size?? Now the number and size on the tag in a pair of jeans is essentually irrelevant in the end on how a women look and how fit and healthy she is but my goodness I'm sure most ladies can agree with me when I say it would be nice to go into a store and know exactly which size you are gonna need.

In MOST jeans I wear BETWEEN a size 8 and a size 12. I wear mostly mediums but some larges. Notice I said most and between. Now Victoria Secret is by fat the most bizzar sizing I have found, at least for me. I have to extra small sweat pants and small hoodies or I swim in them. It just nuts.

Also how the sizes have changed over the years! Marylin Monroe back in her day, wore a then size 12. I watched a talk show about 8 months ago, (Dr. Oz I believe, could be wrong though so don't kill me for those of you who might have seen this show. lol) where they took a dress similar to one that which she would have worn with all the same measurements of a then size 12 and went to a local mall and asked ladies who said they were a size 12 to go ahead and try this dress on. Most of them couldn't even zip it. Thats nuts!

I am aware that this doesn't really have anything to do with weight loss or fitness but for us ladies I think it does weigh on our minds the number on the tags of our clothes. It can be just outright frustrating for us women. Who here agrees!!

A 12 in the 1950s would be a 6 or a small 8 now - though MM's clothes had to be sewn onto her because she had such a small waist and large bust/hips. She was lovely but a bit of a genetic freak.

People have grown, clothes companies like to pacify people with their vanity sizing. If you wear a 4 in one brand and a 6 in the other...both jeans fit the same and cost the same, you're going to buy the 4 "just because". Companies get that.

ETA: It doesn't frustrate me much. I can't online shop for clothes and have to try everything on before I buy it. Thankfully, I like shopping. :)
