Just stopped keto... Advice?

Hey I have just stopped low carb/keto untill after Christmas, my weight loss was very fast when I first started this and gradually slowed down... I am starting to crave carbs so I have changed my macro's to a balanced diet and I have also increased my calories from 1000 to 1300 because people suggested that my weight loss is slowing because I am not eating enough?

Do you think this will work for further weight loss or will it make me bloat/gain weight after doing low carb for 2 months?

Thanks!

Weight loss (non-fluid) will be determined by energy balance for the most part. Remain in a calorie deficit and you will continue to lose weight.

That being said, how tall are you and how much weight are you going to continue to attempt to lose?

You may regain a bit of water weight. One thing carbs do it help the body hold onto water (not like sodium does) and much of the initial keto loss is water, so you'll "regain" some of that.

But after a little time, you'll level out and probably start losing again just fine.

You will gain weight back.. even at 1300 calories because increasing carbs means increasing glycogen/water storage.. That is why you lost weight fast. It was all water.. not fat. That being said, since you have 5 lbs to lose, even 1300 calories might be too light unless you don't work out. If you are active, you will probably need more (maybe up to 500 calories more). Unless you have a medical condition there is no reason to do low carb. But with that said, slowly increase your carbs to reduce the affects of water weight increases until you hit a moderate amount. If you still have body fat to lose, set a moderate deficit and weight train. Over time, you will start to see body changes but you need to fuel your body.

I am 5'2 and weight 116lb (ish) I intend to reach 112lb, maybe less and then build up muscle mass to regain weight?

Any advice on how to loose water weight? Cranberry juice or green tea maybe? I have seen some water retention tablets at tesco t help reduce water being held?

Unless competing, why would you want to lose water weight? Give your body time and your fluid levels will adjust.

Whats your workout schedule. And skip the tablets. You can not avoid water weight, it's natural. And the last thing you want to do is take a pill to dehydrate you.

You don't NEED to lose it under the circumstances. This isn't the same as retaining water due to too much sodium. Your body needs some of that water that you lost in keto. It's natural. Work on losing fat instead.

I recently switched to a more balanced plan after 6 months of very low carb (<50g day). I didn't get any bloaty feelings but then again I haven't weighed myself in months so I can't comment on the difference on the scale,

I go by 'clothes feel' rather than weight .... all good here if I maintain the calorie deficit.

(edit) And yes, skip tablets :)

if 4lbs is the goal loss, then WEIGHTloss shouldn't be your focus.Try bodyfat % :) and try eating even more than 1300. . .
