NEED HELP: Getting Back after a break from strength training

So, we worked out with a trainer for a year and kept it up for a month or so after we finished but now...well, now it has been a couple of months since I have done any serious strength training. Really, since I have done more than a couple of days per week of cardio. I have done a bootcamp kettlebell class one or two days a week some weeks but not enough to feel it. I have not gained back any weight (I am still trying to eat right) but I am beginning to feel the loss of tone and fitness. I feel really squishy again. So, I am looking for some encouragement and tips on getting back into this part of my journey. Will it take me months to get back to where I was in August?
