I probably eat between 1500 and 1700 calories a day and I plan on working out 6 days a week since I just started Slim in 6. Will this help me lose weight or am I still eating too many calories? Im 5'7" and 150 lbs.

    Quick answer is probably yes.

It depends on how much other activity you have ...ie do you have a desk job or are you more active during the day...as to how much. MFP estimates your BMR to be 1483 so at sedentary (which at 20 I'm guessing you're not) your TDEE would be 1780. So if you're evercising on top of that then eating anywhere form 1500-1700 should lead to a deficit and weightloss.

Please be careful not to net less then your BMR on a regular basis....What I mean is if you work out and burn 300 calories you need to be eating over 1700 calories that day so that your body has enough to cover basic functions. This means if you are very active all day and exercise insensly you may need to eat well over 2000 a day.

Why don't you let MFP figure your calories for you and then add in your exercise?

It sounds like, if anything, you may be eating too few calories, as you want to net 1200.

If you follow the beachbody program you would probably be around 1800 calories. The results from those programs are all in the diet. Set your macros at 40% carbs, 40% protein and 20% fats.

    Yes.

You could probably eat more and still lose weight.

Eat the maximum amount of calories to reduce body fat at a realistic pace. A smaller deficit will: have the least effect on your endocrine system, maintain more LBM, and not lead to regaining or gaining back more fat relative to lean body mass when you up calories back up to maintenance which is a trademark of rapid fat loss.
