Vitamins?

I have recently been looking up which vitamins I should be taking when trying to lose weight. Those of you out there who are currently taking the appropriate vitamins while trying to accomplish weight loss goals, please list the vitamins you are on, and how it made you feel after you started taking them, and if you notice over all improvement in your weight loss journey.
I have come across many different lists, and I am not entirely sure which are absolutely needed, and which are not.

I'm not sure how vitamins affect weight loss vs. overall health, but I take a multi & calcium because I know I don't get enough of either, E because my nails break easily without it, and iron because I'm anemic. Iron makes THE BIGGEST DIFFERENCE for me, without it I am really groggy and fuzzy and have a hard time functioning, and it winds up making me depressed somehow. I am so glad I got a blood test done for anemia because it has made the biggest difference in how I function day-to-day.0

That is really good to know! I seem to be very sensitive to iron, any time I take a vitamin with it wether it is chewable or not I end up getting ill. I know it can irritate the stomach so I guess that is what it does to me.0

If you are eating a balanced diet you will get all the vitamins and minerals you need and more. It can do more harm than good to randomly supplement one or small groups of micronutrients because they work synergistically and in opposition, not in isolation. For example calcium is closely linked to magnesium - they work together in bone health but in opposition in muscle contraction - you should not add one without the other unless a medical professional has advised you to.
Aim for nine servings of fruit and veggies in the full rainbow of colours, oily fish regularly, three portions of reduced fat dairy a day, healthy fats little and often (avocado/ olives/ coconut/ cocoa/ nuts/ seeds), mineral rich foods (wholegrains/ beans/ lentils/ nuts/ seeds).0 -
If I could do all of that I would trust me, but vitamins are something that is needed in my diet. I am looking for long term vitamins, not something to do for a month. How ever thank you for that info!0

If I don't take the iron or multi with food it makes me nauseous, but with food I'm fine.0 -
If you eat a balanced diet you don't need a multi vitamin. Vitamins don't help with weight loss and definately are not as good as getting nutrients from food.
Maybe check with your doctor so they can find out what, if anything you are deficient in and those are what you can add.0 -
I take a multi and fish oil. Plus on doctor's orders I take iron, calcium and a vitamin D suppilment.
I eat a healthy well rounded diet, but with my job it is unrealistic to eat perfectly every single day so I can get all my vitamins and nutrients. So I take a vitamin as insurance. Just in case.0 -
I don't know that what I take helps lose weight but I am anemic so I take iron. I also take Vitamin C, niacin, and zinc. Trying to lower my cholesterol the natural way (with niacin) and the Vitamin C and zinc to strengthen my immune system so I don't get sick everytime my 5 and 6 year olds do!0

It is nice to have a dr test you and see what you need most. I never did that. It took me a while to find the right combo for me. I have food allergies and taking supplements makes a huge difference in my overall health. I get most of my vitamins from vitacost. Great prices!!!
I take l-glutamine, vitamin code Raw Pretnatal, vitamin code Raw B, probiotics, and an Omega 3 oil, I also am trying at the moment a CLA-100 and some BCAA's after working out.
I also want to start taking calcium but have not to date added that. I don't know that it helps with weightloss but I feel much better when I take them. I especially notice a difference if I skip my b vit for more than a day or two................0 -
I take GNC Women's Ultra Mega® Active. They have an option without Iron. You take 2 caplets per day per the instructions.
I also take one Nature's Bounty Odorless Fish Oil 1200 mg softgel daily.
I workout 5-6 times a week: strength training, running, yoga.
I don't feel any different taking them versus not taking them. I do feel I am doing all I can for my health though.
I eat tons of fruits & vegetables, lean proteins, and even my recommended fish allowance, but taking these feels right.
And I hardly never, ever get sick.0
