How much does beans cook up? Im cooking a 16oz bag of beans in the crock pot and the bag said a serving size is 1/4 DRY. the hubby already took the trash to the curb and now im left wondering (so i can enter it into my recipes) about how many cups this will make after its cooked

    About 1/2 a cup maybe a bit more. But 1/4th a cup dry will still be the same amount of calories when it's cooked. So I'd say measure out the 1/4th a cup and use the calorie counts for that since it ends up absorbing whatever liquid you're cooking it in. The count should be between like 90 and 120 calories for black beans, any black beans I've ever had have always been somewhere between those two numbers
