Is there an online exercise calculator you recommend?

I am finding MFP has limited entries for working out. For instance I walk on the treadmill at 3.5mph but there is only 3.0 or 4.0 options. What if I added an incline? There is only one stationary bike. I am at level 7 but started at level 1. Surely I am burning more calories now. And what if I did intervals? For the treadmill I just say i did 3.0 even if I did 3.5. But for the new year I would like to record exactly what it is that I am doing.

Is there a detailed exercise calculator anywhere that I can enter what level I did and for how long and it tell me how many calories I actually burned?

Thanks!

Heart rate monitor is the only accurate way to get a real number.

    Try this: http://42.195km.net/e/treadsim/

I think a HRM would be better for you, but that might work. :)

    Agreed.
  • I use my fitbit which seems to be pretty accurate - but does your treadmill have a calories burned number? You can always change the number when you add your exercise. There is this website: http://www.caloriesperhour.com/index_burn.php

and there's an app for that too.

When I'm on a machine, I enter my weight and allow it to calculate the calories for me. However, tons of people have told me that the machines grossly overestimate what you burn. I use 2/3 of the calories that it tells me. If I'm on the arc trainer for an hour, it tells me I've burned around 1000 calories. I mark it as about 600. If I go for a two hour hike in the woods, I have no machine, so I use MFP, but again, it tells me I burned 1200, and I only record 800. I don't know how great my math is with reality, but for now, it's what I go with because I'm not yet willing to invest in a HRM. And, I've heard that HRM are not all that accurate either, especially with weight training.
  • I use sports tracker... It goes from stationary workouts to outside work out.. I love it...It calculates your cals mins speed ect. and they have an app for the smart phones too.
