I'm generally eating about 1700-1800 calories a day right now, after I log my 30 minutes of speed walking everyday. I am also drinking 12 glasses of water a day as well. Usually I lose weight if I keep my totals around 1300-1450 if I'm not pregnant.
I dont want to gain a ton of extra unwanted pounds this time around. I feel like 1700-1800 is ok? Thoughts?

I'm not pregnant and I eat 1,800 calories.
Seriously, this is a question to be asking your OB, not a bunch of strangers on the internet. You can probably get your answer from the nurse with a simple phone call.0 -

I agree with what she said, ask your doctor. I did read elsewhere that you should be eating at maintenance level and then add 200 - 300 calories during your third trimester, but again your doctor should be able to assist you.0 -

This. Every woman is different. Please consult your doctor. And CONGRATULATIONS0 -
My wife and I specifically spoke with her doctor regarding this when and her doctor told her to keep it around 1600 calories intake a day and all the exercise she could possibly do, without eating back those exercise calories. Just for reference my wife is 209 pounds and 5'3".0

I would definitely consult your doctor. The "eating for two' is a myth, you only really need 200-300 calories more during pregnancy. But you'll need to check with your OB to see if that is from maintenance or from what you were eating pre-pregnancy.0

My doctor and I have talked about this, and while I did not ask for specific calorie numbers, we talked exercise and she wants me to stay active 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week. I'm not trying to be super strict, because nothing sounds good right now, so when the craving hits that does actually sound good, I'm going to eat it---in moderation.
I want to try and still keep track of calories this time around, just to keep myself in check a bit.
I know they say the magic number is 300 extra calories and not until the 2nd trimester, but I usually maintain on 1600-1700 a day, so I figured 1800 wouldnt be terrible.0
