Good for you! I love volunteering and I take groups from school all the time. We get far more out of the experience than those we're actually helping. It does a body good!

It's so great to volunteer and give back sometimes! Tonight I'm helping with the City of Boston homeless census. In May I went to Mexico for 2 weeks to work with kids and it was epic. Seriously check out www.casadelosangeles.org and tell me you don't want to squeeze all the babies ;)

I volunteer a lot. I raised $1,100 and ran 5.6 miles for soldiers coming back with Traumatic Brain Injuries and PTSD, and I take my one week vacation and volunteer as a camp counselor at a camp for kids that have life threatening illnesses.

Volunteering is as good for you as it is for the people you are helping out. Good for you for getting out there!

Yeah I try to whenever I can find time. Did a couple of years at the Milwaukee zoo, that was amazing fun - got to know all the keepers and the animals very well. I did some stints in a soup kitchen bringing in the donation boxes but that was rough and very hard work. I always fancied volunteering at the Habit for Humanity, I bet that would be fun.

For years I was a Big Sister for the Big Brothers/Sisters Program.

I now spend time with a senior at a nursing home. I go 1-2 times a week. ( I did that in the past also) Just seeing my friend smile warms my heart!
