Success Doesn't Happen Overnight

I read on here a lot of people wanting to know what the next "quick fix" is, or how discouraged they get when they "fall off the wagon". Here are some helpful tips:

Step One: Stop treating a healthy lifestyle as a diet!! Restricting foods will only make you want it more and thus make you want to binge and feel terrible. Weight loss is simple (and don't give me that special snowflake, were all different crap- this works for everyone) :

Burn more calories than you consume= weight loss.
Consume more calories than you burn = Weight gain.
Consume the same amount of calories as you burn= weight being maintained.

If you want to lose weight, you need to eat at a calorie deficit. Now if you want to look good and lose weight, than add in some cardio, some weight training (no lifting heavy will NOT, I repeat WILL NOT make you BULKY) and make sure you are eating a balanced diet. Want that piece of cake? go ahead and eat it.... everything in moderation! This is talked about to death, but having lost 22 lbs and not restricting anything other than calories, I can tell you that the science behind it works. I eat what I want, exercise, and I lose weight. Simple as that.

Rome wasn't built in a day folks, you will not magically make your weight disappear over night or in a week.

And if you need some added motivation look at these.

Good post, I never understand all of these werid diets people go on, just eat less and exercise more, simple. I eat pie, chips, curry, chocolate etc.. Just smaller portions.
