I concur with the comments above, I would do the parameters of your grocery stores, I seldom venture into the aisles- limit yourself to fresh produce and staples. Look for food that is closest to its original form, i.e. you can recognize what it looked like when it was picked... you will go a loooong way energy wise with clean food!

Rule #1 for clean eating, if you can't read it don't eat it. If you can read the ingredients on the packaging and know what every item listed is then go for it but if you are reading nothing but chemicals chances are you don't want those chemicals in your body.

I find just being deathly terrified of food works. I'm so scared that something isn't 'clean' that I just don't eat it. I thought the carrots would be okay, but I can almost feel them glaring at me from the fridge with their dirty eyeballs. I really need to get out of this house, but the tomatoes took my keys.... please, if anyone reads thi-

If you want to save money, and reduce pesticide consumption, look up the dirty dozen and the clean 15 list of fruits and veggies. They make a new one each year.
  • Make most of your meals using fresh produce, nuts and seeds and whole grains (from the bulk bins), and lean high-quality meats and you should have no issues. Stay away from a bunch of packaged foods as it's so much simpler to go with whole unprocessed foods.
