Never owned a set of scales

Yup the subject title says it all I've never owned a set of scales to weigh myself I've been using my friends who lives a door down from me as and when I need them sometimes it can be inconvenient if she's away or out or I forget to ask for them. Anyway I've decided I should really get some as her battery's playing up and it's just getting old, I just wanted to know should i be prepared to see a different result on the new ones? I've heard that people say you should always weigh on the same scale or should I buy the same make scale she has?

The number you see on a new set of scales may be different than what you've been seeing on your friends but you'll still physically weigh the same amount! The number on the scale isn't important as long as your weight is going in the direction you want it to. Not having scales has probably saved you the anguish a lot of people go through weighing themselves multiple times a day.
