How are your macro's set up?

Recently I was advised to set my macronutrient goals at 40% for carbs and 30% each for protein and fat. However, over the summer I took a college nutrition class and the national recommendations call for 65% to come from carbs (whole grains, but mostly LOTS of fruit and vegetables) and the remaining 35% is split between protein and fat (can't recall the exact %s atm).
So, when it comes to setting your macronutrient intake goals, which philosophy do you follow and why? Please feel free to post any resources you've used in making your decision as I would really like to become more educated on this topic

40/30/30 because everyone on here keeps on going on about protein, and this seems a reasonably balanced way of doing it (I never hit my macros though!)
Also, aren't the national recommendations for people maintaining weight? I though the body required more protein in a deficit to help prevent muscle loss?0 -
I have mine at 35/35/30. Why? I think its just because it's what I saw the most while looking it up on the web!0

I do 40% protein, 30% carbs and 30% fat
Edit....why? Because over the last few months I've been doing this I have learned a lot about my body and that is what is working best for me to tone up. I do not believe one set thing works for everyone. That comes to eating in general. Calories, macros, and the type of foods you eat. Everyone works in different ways and this is just what is working best for me right now.0 -
Mine are in between those. I do 50% for carbs, 20% for protein, and 30% for fats.0

Mine are set at 40/30/30...once I changed them, manually, I started to lose and consistently!!0

Lately, I've been going over on fat and coming under on carbs. So long as I hit my protein, I don't worry about it.0
