If you measure, how often?

I started measuring myself for the first time last spring and was doing it every week. The progress was so slow that I stopped doing it. Now, I've started again, thinking that I'll measure once a month. What is usually recommended?

I'm not sure what the recommendations are, but I know I do my measurements once a week. I try to do them at the same time/day every week so that the numbers are more or less equivalent for better comparison. If nothing else I'm in the school of thought that says more data makes it easier to spot a trend.0

Once a month or every other week seems appropriate.0

I do it every other week.0

Everything I've read says that you need to weigh yourself no more than weekly.
When it comes to body measurements, they have all agreed that weekly will not show results; however there is not consensus on how often, but it seems to be between every 3-5 weeks. I think if you aimed for a monthly target, that would suffice. I do mine every 3 weeks, and still only see minimal changes, yet I'm changing drastically if judged by the fit of my clothes.0 -
Weighing is once per week Same time of day, etc., Sunday morning, naked before coffee and breakfast (though I am also weighing on Monday morning for another program but that ends next week). There is enough variability in the week to week as it is, so more frequently can be distracting.
I hadn't weighed since Sunday but this week has been kind of crazy both schedule and food wise. I stepped on the scale after eating and treadmill workout (not an ideal time) and the scale read "176." I got on the scale this morning after having breakfast and a cup of coffee as I was getting ready to get in the shower..."173" which is the same number it read on Sunday
Body measurements are once per month, again same time and circumstances. For me that is the "last Sunday" of each month.0 -
I personally haven't measured myself since I started(1 month ago). I've only lost 6lbs and don't expect any change. I'd say do it when you want. There are no rules to this. Don't make it harder then it is.0

I might add that it also depends upon how much/how far in weight/body size reduction you have to go. I regret not having a full set of body measurements when i started.
I was reaching a 48 inch pants waist size at my heaviest and I'm down to a 32 now, so I know there is a huge change over time.0
