Fibre/Fiber

Most days I struggle to reach my 35g fibre goal. tbh I struggle to get over 20g. I eat vegetables, fruit, nuts and finn crisps. Where am I going wrong?

How much of all those things do you eat? Nine or ten servings of fruit and vegetables alone should give you fifteen to twenty grams. The rest you make up in wholegrains, beans, lentils, nuts or seeds. These all supply minerals as well, so if you are not getting enough fibre you may be low on certain minerals.

You could also try adding some ground flaxseed meal to certain things. One serving (2 tbsp. of the kind I have) has 4 grams in it. I add a half serving to my morning oatmeal and mix it in with various other recipes. Like others said though, make sure you are getting enough fruits and veggies, brown rice, black beans, oats, quinoa, etc.

I would guess it's the amount of those things you are eating. I often get > 40 g of fiber even on days I don't eat grains and I only consume about 1800 calories per day. But if you need more there are a variety of fiber supplements available.
