Shingles, when will it get better!!??

I have had shingles for the past 3 weeks. I have never had it before and so when the rash initially appeared, I assumed I was having an allergic reaction to something. Therefore, I did not get on the anti-viral meds in time and it was out of control.

I am so tired of the nerve pain. I've heard people deal with this for several weeks to even years!!!

What helps? Advice? Encouragement....I am tired of hurting....

Is it better? Like you, I didn't know initially that it was shingles so didn't get meds right away. I am hoping by now that you don't feel any more nerve pain. My pain is on my left leg. It's been two weeks now. When will it end?
