Being Healthy vs Being Skinny

So, ive been doing some thinking lately. And ive come to the conclusion that I'd rather be healthy than skinny. Over the past week or so that ive been on MFP, ive been eating a lot healthier and have pushed a lot of the junk food out of my life. Ive been drinking more water, excersing a little, and taking my multivitamins. And I feel GREAT! Sure, I havent lost more than maybe a pound, but even if i dont lose all of the weight I want, it feels damn good to be healthy and doing something great for my body.

So keep that in mind when you get discouraged and want to give up because you arent seeing the results that you want just yet. Remember how much better you feel being healthier and go about your day with a smile on your face :)

Dont give up! :)

I know what you mean! If I don't get all the way there but feel great and fit in my clothes I'll be happy!

The 'feeling a lot better' is what keeps me going in the process. If I feel this much better already, how awesome will I feel once I'm at a healthy size?
  • Excellent attitude! I have been what most would call skinny for the last several yrs. Apparently I have a "good metabolism" as I usually eat a lot of junk food but dont put on much weight (though admittedly I am a bit soft and pudgy in the middle, it just doesn't show) For the last little bit I have been trying to eat helathier, exercise more and put on some "good weight" (muscle) Not sure it shows too much but I have managed to add a few pounds, am gaining some strength, though it still doesn't show much in my build.
Even if no one else notices, I feel good about myself. I think there are a lot of people who should adapt the attitude that its not so much about what numbers are on the scale but more importantly being active, eating healthier and feeling good about yourself for your efforts.
