Strength training without weights

Ok, I know the title sounds crazy. I just could not think of another way of putting this. I've been doing cardio (aqua aerobics 60 2x each week and 1 hr of treadmill and elliptical) but I know I should add strength training as well. Here is my dilemma. My knee's and elbow's are shot! After 7 surgeries, I cannot risk putting extra pressure on them. My legs are still very strong (helped out great with surgeries, no therapy was need), but my ab's are terrible.
Any idea's how I can get the strength training in without killing my knee's or elbow's?
