Question about calories burned at work?

Hey all, I wanted to get a rough idea of how many extra calories I burn at work. I'm a radiographer, so I'm on my feet 90% of the time in the department, and push the "portable" X-ray machine around the hospital to different wards. I also wear a lead rubber apron weighing around 7kg for hours on end when I'm in operating theatres. Thank you all!

That would likely class as Activities of Daily Living, not something you should be counting for calories. You should be walking 10,000 steps a day for basic health, any weight loss goals are extra (further or more intense). Maybe get a pedometer?0

If it's your job and you do it all the time your body gets very used to it and becomes efficient. Unless you are losing weight too rapidly I wouldn't count any work related activity as exercise.0

You could try a device like a BodyMedia FIT. I work a retail job on some days and am on my feet walking around. I burn an additional 800 calories or so on those days.0
