What do you have in your larder - just in case?

Peanut butter, sugar, flour, rice, pasta, vegetable oil and whole grain oats are the cheapest and most calorific items, the study says, and it wants to encourage poorer families to prepare for natural disasters.

I have oats, flour, soup, tinned vegetables, tinned fruit and clean water. oh and cat food for the cat. I don't live in a danger area but power can go out anywhere and you never know.

dried beans, soup mixes, rice, coffee, UHT milk and cream, sugar, cocoa, flour (plain, SR, corn), those funny 0 cal noodles, canned plain tuna, extra spices (cumin, coriander, etc)...plus heaps of other stuff. But mine isn't there for a 'disaster' - its a survival thing. I'll not know when there wont be enough money for grocery shopping for a month, or six.
