There is no nutritional value on a bag of potatos, and here it says 1.5 cups of baked potato without skin is 170cals. Is that right? Do potato skins REALLY have THAT many calories in them?

You should be eating the skin, but yes baked potatoes have a lot of cals. They are very dense! But that doesn't mean they are nutritionally vapid.

The lable on my potato bag says a 5.3 oz serving of potato with skin is 110 calories, I bake these all the time with skins and add 2 tablespoons of low fat sour cream for a total of 150 per potato :) Enjoy!

The skin is my FAVORITE part... But I thought if they really had SOOOOOOOOO many cals in them I can suck it up!

    Thanks!

Potatos in and of themselves are great! Fiber, potassium, some vitamin C....they are a powerhouse, it's what you add to them that adds all the unhealthy part.
