Whey Protein

I have been reading about using whey protein in shakes and smoothies, but wondering whether or not I should use it. I know that lean muscle is great for fat-burning, but I'm wondering if adding whey protein to my diet will make me "bulk up." Thoughts from ladies who may have used it/anyone who has any perspective?
Thanks
Thanks

Women don't bulk up. Even the extreme edge cases, such as the most elite female bodybuilders in the world, are remarkably smaller than their male counterparts.
You will not bulk up.
Add protein, reduce carbs or fats in exchange, and keep lifting.0 -

Just about anything is ok in moderation and adding a protein shake into your diet will not cause you to "bulk up".0 -
Bulking is a function of testosterone, not protein. Protein is used by the body to build/repair muscle but if you ain't a man, you ain't a gonna look like a man (without steroids).... Best wishes on your journey. (My sincere appologies if you happen to be an English Major or a Grammar Cop)...LOL>0

The only way your going to bulk up is if you eat well over your caloire goal and start taking steriods haha0

There's nothing "magical" about whey protein - it's just a food source like any other protein (chicken, cottage cheese, yogurt, milk, beef, etc.). It's not going to make you "bulk up" any more than eating any of those above foods would. Protein powders are usually used as an easy way to supplement your protein intake when you're not getting enough from whole foods - other than that, there's nothing magical about them. Sufficient protein intake simply helps you maintain what lean body mass you have.
If "bulking up" was as simple as drinking a protein shake every day, there would be a lot more hyooge, bulked-up guys walking around. Bulking (in terms of muscle) involves eating at a caloric excess and a heavy, intense weight training regimen. For women, significant bulking usually also includes "supplements" such as anabolic steroids, since they lack the anabolic hormones (e.g., testosterone) that men have. You're not going to all of a sudden wake up huge and jacked just because you drank protein shakes for a week, or a month, or a year.0 -
There are mass gainers, and also some proteins offer high calories for people that want to bulk. A friend of mine is taking whey that offers like 3000 calories per serving but with 4 scoops.0
