Squats= A butt?

I have heard that doing squats can actually make your butt bigger. Is that true? Also, do any of you guys have a guess as to how long it takes to see results? I know it's different for everyone but I'm sure some of you have had experience with it!

    Weighted squats can make a butt bigger, IF you are eating in a calorie surplus in order to produce muscle gain.

    OR if you do them while dieting you still might gain a small amount of muscle, and for sure you'll keep more muscle that you already have plus make it more shapely (higher, and rounder).

    Who cares about butt size? Lunges and squats (especially with weights and a healthy, protein-filled diet) will make your behind GREAT and ROUND and SEXY, regardless of gender. Do them!
  • Back in the day, before I needed MFP, I was the queen of the flat bootie. Then I discovered squats and lunges. And after a few months, I ended up with a rather nice bubble butt. I wouldn't say it was bigger, but lifted and more toned. Working back to that point again. Wish me luck.

    I used to have a big butt, squats made it smaller and rounder.

    Mine has gotten smaller, but it's where it's supposed to be now. I'm loving my rear end these days.

    YES it works!! I've started weight training in January and definitely see very nice building results in the booty. People have even commented on it! I never thought I'd love my butt as I didn't have one! but it's getting to be my fave part.

    I used to have a flat booty...I have been squatting for about a month, and I think my booty actually has shape now!

    Before starting MFP, my husband said my butt was getting bouncy. I didn't like that, of course. I do squats almost every day and now its like a rock :)
