58 lbs to lose and need to lower my blood pressure

My blood pressure seemed to get high out of nowhere Dr. told me to loose weight and reduce sodium, no more than 2 grams a day and a 2000 calorie a day diet.

If I don't get the BP down I'll have to go on pills........ Hope the new diet helps...

    Hi there,

I also had high blood pressure. My husband has heart disease and therefore I had to change our eating habits which was instrumental in also bringing down my own blood pressure. We have had to change to whole foods and cut out processed foods. Cooking everything from scratch so we know that only healthy ingredients like very little salt for instance.

I therefore believe I now eat fairly healthy. My diary is open and if you would like to send a friend request, please do if you think I could offer any support,

Your blood pressure will drop drastically once you lose weight, exercise will help condition your heart and a healthy diet will work on those excessive pounds. The toughest part is how much discipline you are willing to put forth. Losing 10 pounds won’t make that much of a difference neither will 15 but after 25 or 30 the smiles begin and so will your physical wellbeing. I have 10 more pounds to complete my goal of 60 pounds, so I understand what it’s like. Work out every day whether you want to or not it takes at least 45 min of good cardio and remember you didn’t gain it all in a short period of time; don’t set unrealistic goals like dropping 50 pounds by Valentine’s day. Keep an honest record of your eating, even if you cheat and record solid exercise. I have faith you!
Ps you can friend me if you wish, I don’t mind offering support; I really understand the struggles!!! 

I have also been having high blood pressure issues but I honestly forget about it most of the time. I still put salt on my food and forget to check how much sodium I'm consuming :(
My hope is that by losing the weight I won't have to worry about it anymore. But, high BP does run in my family.
Please add me if you'd like. Maybe we can help each other.

I've stopped adding salt to everything I eat and have been watching my sodium intake like a hawk. My doctor said to keep my sodium 2 grams a day or less.

Salty foods are my weakness :( but I'm adjusting.

I did buy a Mortons salt substitute
