Hi there all ☺

Hi,
I am 67, retired, but active as a community volunteer and I need to lose at least 10 kg.
I have had MFP on a tablet for about a year. Just sitting there. Dumb eh?
But Xmas coming, and I think it's high time I started using it to get in shape and set out a strategy for handling the approaching food tsunami. My immediate object is to come out of the festive season trimmer than I was at the start.
My hat goes off to all those who work hard to shed surplus weight. It's such a difficult thing to do. But I am a lot smaller than I used to be, and I know from experience that when we are willing we can do it, and it can be such a profound self-learning experience.
You guys are my inspiration!!!

????????????

Hello and welcome. I was also on MFP over a year ago when I tried to start what ended up being a failed diet. I started up again 3 weeks ago. Just had enough and decided that it was now or never. This time I think my attitude is better and more realistic. I have alot more to lose than you do; but we can all support one another wherever each other is at. I really appreciate your attitude toward encouraging your daughter by first working on yourself. As a person who has had many family members pressure them to lose weight in the past; the only way it will work is if the person who needs to lose weight truly decides to lose it. No one can do it for them. You seem to know that, and I very much appreciate it. I hope your efforts to improve yourself help encourage your daughter to do the same. Add me if you would like, I can always use more encouraging friends on MFP. I have a long way to go and many challenges to overcome along the way.

Hi Jim, Appologies for not responding sooner, I wanted my new beginning to gain some momentum first. Would be honored to add you ( if I can figure out how to do that!) and offer whatever support I can. Michael
