Meal Plans?

So I got a new set of workout dvds that use a very restrictive meal plan. I thought about not following it, but I have such a hard time with consistency on my own that I feel like I should give it a shot. Do you guys use meal plans with fitness videos or routines? What should I do?

You could try it out for a week and see how it works for you. I personally have not followed any specific meal plan, but if you feel you need a bit more structure it could help. Just make sure it's hitting all the macros and you're eating within your calories.0

I started P90X 2 weeks ago and am trying to follow the meal plan to a certain degree. I made some modifications to fit my lifestyle, but so far it's going well.
I guess it depends on the program and the meal plan you're going to be following. This is the first time I've paid attention to an accompanying meal plan, and I'm actually pretty happy with how it's going.0 -

That's part of where my conflict lies. They allow 2000 calories for someone my size, here I eat 1730. I'm considering it, because the meal plans are made up of healthy fats, lean protein, non-starchy vegetables and low sugar fruits.0 -

I have a co-worker who was doing P90X and following the meal plan, and I could really see a difference in a short amount of time with her. I'll need to make some modifications to fit our lifestyle too, my husband is anti- reduced fat/fat free/sugar free anything, and I'm not sure we can always afford the ingredients they suggest.0
