Which cardio is best?

I was wondering if doing a class like BodyAttack is as effective as regular cardio like running/cycling?

Best for what? What are your goals?

Isn't this your second body attack thread.....today?

The best cardio is the one that you'll stick with and do week after week.

If however you're just looking for what burns the most calories it's pretty hard to top running/cycling outdoors. Personally I can't touch calories burned running with anything else. Morning runs eat up about 1200 calories for me in just about 60 minutes. Treadmill and elliptical won't even come close to that for me but if you find something more stimulating perhaps you can keep the intensity up to that level.

The two main ones would be long (steady state) cardio or interval training (HIIT). There are several options in each category, you just need to find out what works for you and what you can stick with (enjoy). Here are a couple of prod and cons off the top of my head.

    Steady state cardio:
Pros: shorter recovery time (generally), large calorie burns, great for building endurance and cardiovascular health.
Cons: Time consuming and potentially catabolic.

    HIIT:
Pros: Much quicker, more intensity means better 'bang for your buck', great for power and potentially increasing V02 max.
Cons: Longer recovery time needed and some people cant cope with the intensity at first.

Okay, forgot swimming. Yes, that probably tops the list but I don't have access to a pool.
