Hi all,
Has any one used water retention tablets to help with their tummy bloat / aid with their weight loss? I seems to have lots of bloat around my stomach area which never seems to reduce.
Iv heard both good things & bad about these tablets, was just wondering other peoples thoughts.
Thanks

All they will do is dehydrate you... why don't you just minimize some carbs (mostly grains) and you can probably get the same result. The rest of the bloat will only be body fat which will take time to cut down.
BTW, if you want to cut fat around your stomach, it's all about overall fat loss. Lift heavy, lift frequently and do minimal cardio.0 -
Honestly, I'm not sure if you're just referring to diuretics here or if this is some specific product. I'm going to assume you mean diuretics. *My opinion* is that over the counter diuretics aren't really good for you and I wouldn't recommend using them to reduce bloating in your belly area. I'm on a prescription diuretic and I would like to go off of it if I'm able... But every time I've tried my hands, feet, ankles and knees start to retain water. Many diuretics leech potassium which can be problematic. I believe that there is also concern that it can cause damage to the kidneys. Anyway, as I said, I don't recommend taking them unless prescribed by a doctor. And I don't think most would prescribe them for a bloated belly, they're generally for water retention in your extremities, face, etc, due to a medical condition (mine is my thyroid disease, apparently).0

I don't use it as a weight loss aid. that's really not good for you. I only use it when I need it - like around ToM. Using a diuretic as a weight loss aid is a bbbaaadddd idea.
If you take too much for too long, there is a chance that your body chemistry will get out of whack. It will no longer respond to natural stimuli and when that happens, your kidneys will start to shut down and then you'll have to get on medication and slowly wean off the diuretic...or die.0 -

Your ticker says you have 26 pounds to lose as your goal. There is no 'magic' pill that will reduce, aid, hide 26 pounds of belly fat. Stay in your calorie goal, exercise, be consistent and the weight will come off. Make this a lifestyle and ignore the gimmicks and fad diets.0 -
The only time I've taken them was during lady time because I felt huge. They're a temporary solution and you won't lose real weight. Just make sure you're drinking enough water and watch your sodium and you won't need to take them.0

My doctor put me on some a few months ago for a short term. I was swelling beyond control. I also was taking a lot of medicine and going through treatment. My medicine had something to do with a lot of the gain. I don't care for prescribe water pills. I like doing teas or lemon juice water to release the fluid.
