How much to eat when you dont have much to loose?

Hi all,
I posted a while ago about whether to follow the MFP or the TDEG guidelines for calorie intake. I was originally eating 1200, but from the feedback I got I was advised that I should be eating more (based on my BMR) as I don't have much fat to loose. I am currently 67 kg (about 150 pounds) and am trying to get down to 60kg (about 132). I started at about 71kgs and have been with MFP since August, so I have lost about 4kgs in four months (yay!). But basically I am trying to find a more maintainable and healthy way to loose weight and ensure that I continue to loose weight- I know that the last 5 kgs are always the hardest and I am almost there!
Previously I was on 1200 calories a day, but after finding out that my BMR was about 1465 I have started aiming to eat more. I am currently trying to eat at my BMR (although I know I should be eating at my TDEG of 1600) but because I am so used to eating less I am finding it hard to get up to this much (especially when I excercise and have to eat back my excercise calories). I am planning to start trying to eat my BMR and then go up to my TDEG when I am used to eating more.
I basically wanted to ask whether everyone else has suceeded in loosing weight by upping their calories? I just really want evidence that I am doing the right thing by eating a bit more. I have been trying for a couple weeks now and haven't noticed any difference yet.
Appreciate any advice or insights!!
