Does anyone have any toning tips to get rid of the lower tummy after losing weight? I do crunches, twists with a ball holding in my core. It's probably a big ask as its from having children years ago but finally got around to losing the weight but can't tone it??? Any suggestions welcomed

I am seeking the same thing. If I could get this lower belly toned, then I think I'll be ok. I am going to start going to Pilates and Yoga classes this week. I want to try something new.0

If you wanting to get rid of excess skin then most of the time it will require surgery unfortunately, but if you just want to tightwn the mid section up its all about getting to a good low body fat % through a good diet. There is no way to burn fat off your abs by doing about work, your stomach will get stronger but your body will take the fat off where ever it wants to0

You need to do fat loss workouts. And what you're doing right now, attempting to spot reduce, is useless. You need full body resistance training, preferably using heavy weights, and good diet practices/clean eating. If it's simply excess skin, you'll need surgery.0

Are you talking about getting rid of the fat over your tummy area, tightening up loose skin after pregnancy, or looking for ways to work on separated abdominal muscles as a result of the pregnancy?
Toning doesn't really mean anything- it will help get you a proper answer if you're specific about what the problem is that you want to fix.0 -
Same problem here, but add a C-section scar + scar tissue into the mix.

Crunches, leg lifts, WATER, and planks. It is also possible (I have not checked out your bio so only you can make this determination) that you may still have a little residual fat there; if that is the case then continued calorie deficit along with muscle development may be necessary; only if you are not nearing underweight though... Best wishes on your journey.0

pilates will honestly make a big difference if you practice it regularly (2-3 times per week). it's not going to give you a six-pack unless your body fat % is low enough to show the ab muscles. but it will strengthen weak muscles in your entire core, improve your posture and consequently help your stomach to look less "pouchy" and more "tucked in". most people seem to see a visible difference beginning after 6-8 weeks of regular pilates practice, though they can usually feel a difference even sooner.
ETA: above posters are correct, though--strengthening the core muscles will only do so much. if there's truly a significant amount of fat there, only losing additional weight will get rid of it completely. there's no such thing as spot-reduction.0 -

Tightening up loose skin after pregnancy, now I have lost the weight I wanted to lose but I think maybe the skin problem is too late and I don't consider surgery. Thanks for your opinion0 -

That sounds awesome but unfortunately my gym doesn't have a pilates class0 -

Yeah I guess I do have fat still hanging around so if I continue with my gym workout and add in leg lifts and planks I may notice a difference. Thank you I don't think I'm going to be underweight. I'm 166cm tall and 69kg.
Feel free to add me anybody, your support and help is great0 -

Yeah surgery...no thanks, I guess the fat will continue to come off from where it finds it but maybe the tummy skin is here to stay thanks anyway0 -

For many of us, that tummy area is the last to go.
You might consider really focusing on big compound lifts. They can work wonders for your body. Check Staci.
