Another dumb question, by moi

Alright, so another question. I was chatting with a friend about this and I just have no clue how much. I'm a nervous foot twitcher, as in I twitch it non-stop when I'm sitting and tap it when I'm standing unless in the presence of someone I'm obviously supposed to act better around. So, how much does twitching your foot add up to each hour? It's probably not a lot, but I know it has to be something. Obviously light tapping would be different, if by much of anything, then rapid twitching. Thanks in advance!

Why would you want to try to count up and add together all your daily activity that is burning calories?
The normal reason for logging exercise on MFP is because your diet goal already has a deficit built into it - the adding of exercise lets you eat more and keep that deficit, and feed the workout so you actually get some benefit from it.
If you just try to log everything to eat it back, you defeat the purpose of having a deficit.
Otherwise, your daily activity is already factored into the non-exercise Activity level you selected.
But great observation, that type of activity is exactly the first your body drops when you don't eat enough for your level of activity. So keep an eye on it. If you stop doing it, your metabolism is slowing down.0 -
Rather than trying to figure caloric burn for daily activities, if you think your foot twitching, cleaning, working, and other activities put you in another category, put yourself as lightly active, instead of sedentary, or whatever you are at.
Going over on calories every once in a while is fine. Tweaking your numbers to get yourself out of the red, can cause your numbers to be off, and you won't see the results you expect. If you find yourself losing less than you should, set your activity level lower, if you are losing more than you should set them higher.
Don't try to nitpick your daily activity, though, or it will drive you nuts.0 -
I'm a very set and organized person and I like to track everything I do in the day whether on here or my planner / calendars. I'm not trying to add it to eat it back, I'm trying to add it to keep track of burn for a group I'm in. I probably only go over my calories once every other week and I don't usually eat activity calories. I was just rather curious, though thanks for the idea of upping exercise level on my profile and the tip about metabolism.0
