water weight?

So last week I decided to get back on track with my water intake and I drank at least 64 oz (probably more) each day, for several days. I was super excited as it looked like the last bit of water weight I was retaining was shed off, even without intensive workout sessions! ( I weight myself Saturday Morning, and was at 145 lbs, down from 148 the week before)
On Sat/Sun I drank only about a glass or two of water as I was pretty busy over the weekend , and then at work yesterday, I again drank the reccommended 64 oz of agua. This morning I weighed myself (and I did not go over my 1200/day recommended calories intake over the span of the whole week) and I was 149 lbs!
I know it seems crazy, but how is it that the first time I drank water I lost weight, and the second time, I gained--4 pounds from Saturday!!? I know my body fluctuates retaining water, but isn't that a little extreme?

No, it's not extreme. I can gain 4 lbs. over the course of a day. Ask yourself, did you eat 14,000 calories more than you burned? If your answer is no, it is not fat. Just think how giddy you will be when that 4 lbs. suddenly comes off. This is not Saturday, BTW. The weight gods are punishing you for peeking.0
