Those are pretty vague questions. You will benefit by doing some basic internet research on nutrition. Also, read the stickied threads on the boards here at MFP. Also, your weigh-in day is not different than any other. You can't fool your body into being lighter on the day you weigh. It is what it is...your daily habits will be reflected one way or another. It is like eating strictly vegan and exercising furiously 2 days before getting your blood work done at the doctors....it isn't going to change anything, the damage is done.0

Doesn't matter because you should weigh in first thing in the morning before you eat or exercise.0 -
The same things you do every other day. Get in a good workout (whatever that is for you), and hit yoru calorie/macro goals. It's just another day... weighing in shouldn't matter.0

I strongly recommend food and water.
Or, if you're insane, nothing. That'll get your numbers lower, because we all know it's all about getting our numbers as low as possible, as soon as possible, even if we fabricate false measurements!
Oh, and that was a joke.0 -
Nothing, you should weigh in before you eat.0

I'd go with a lunchable and maybe some elliptical? No, seriously...........0

What do you like to eat?
Try not to look at your weigh in as a performance. It's just a snapshot of the overall trend of your weight loss. You don't need to game it. Your weight goes up and down all the time anyway, and that's ok; that's how it works.0 -

Based on her posting history she may be trying to qualify for the military, which might mean she has to hit a certain number on a certain day.
Regardless, please just eat a reasonable caloric deficit and exercise. You will need to be healthy, not malnourished, to do well in basic.0 -
You eat as normal..as you should weigh before you eat or drink anything anyway?0

I would not consider this sound advice if the person weighs them self at 11 at night, but gets up at 7 in the morning.0 -

Alright, Mr Picky, as long as the OP is weighing in the morning after they wake up, and preferably before 10:00am, for Mr Picky's benefit, they should weigh in before they eat. Specific enough for you?0 -

I typically weigh in before my favorite exercise class at the Y on Friday evening at about 6pm. I use the scale to measure trends as there is fluctuation all the time so it matters not if there's food on my stomach or not when I weigh.0 -
I weigh myself every Saturday morning. I usually use the rest room first, then weigh myself and seeing as it's pretty early in the morning, it's usually on an empty stomach. I eat normally the rest of the day.

Don't treat weigh ins different from any other day.
What are you weighing in for anyway, to get the lowest possible number or to track how you're actually doing? Eating/drinking a certain way on weigh ins or the day before may artificially change the number on the scale because you're more or less hydrated or have more or less food in your digestive tract but these things have NO impact on your actual body composition. So why bother?0 -
Back when I trained, (taekowndo) our coach advised to avoid salty foods at least for the two days leading to our weigh ins. Having two pounds of water placing you on the higher category is definitely not good.0

You should eat food, not too much, and mostly plants.0

Yes! I am trying to get to my qualified weight and trying to do it in a good time... My recruiter says I'm basically water weight0 -
Lord knows I want to give you plenty of advice about the military, and recruiters, and branches of the service. But you didn't ask for all that *kitten* so I assume you don't want it.
You will indeed be best served by trying to become fit and shed fat. The best way to do that is to eat yourself a reasonable deficit from your total daily energy expenditure but more than your basal metabolic rate.
You might be able to hit a certain number on a scale but when you get to basic, you're really going to want some fitness to draw upon.
I assume your parents are signing the waiver for you to go before you're 18. If not, then you do have time to do it right. Also know that they will always take you! If it takes you six months to get in fighting shape, it's not like you will have missed the boat.
Much better to do it right than to do it fast.0 -

Honestly, any advice for the military is awesome. And yes they prefer to get me in early! But all I need is the weight to decrease! Urgg0 -
Advice #1. Quality of life is a LOT better in the Air Force. Anyone who has been in any of the branches will confirm this. It makes a difference.
Advice #2. Get a guaranteed job. Your recruiter will tell you that you can be an X, Y, or Z, and a whole bunch of other stuff. Get the MOS/AFSC/Whatever job you want guaranteed IN WRITING! You don't want to spend four years washing dishes for a living and if you're not one of the smart people who get a good job guaranteed, you'll be one of the dumb ones who gets the left-overs.
Advice #3. Recruiters lie. They will say and do whatever they can to get you in as fast as possible before you reconsider. Don't go fast because the recruiter wants you to!
As far as your weight goes, master your body before you enlist! You can get healthy and in shape all on your own. This place is chock full of success stories. You don't need the military to be healthy and fit. The military can be a great doorway to opportunity, education, career, self-discipline, etc. But unless you want or need all that, join a gym :-)0 -
