Hungry!

I've been so hungry all day, it's driving me crazy!

I've also been really tired in the evenings the last 2 nights, with my wife telling me to head to bed by around 9pm, when I'm often up until 11.

Something isn't right, but I'm not sure what it is :/

I hate to be so simplistic, but if you feel tired and hungry then you need to eat and sleep more. Make a healthy choice of food, don't load up on salt and sugar and get some rest. Your body is talking, you need to listen.

Get more sleep, and take a week or two away from dieting. I would strongly disagree with the poster that suggested that you should eat more.

  • Sounds like you may need to eat more. Are you close to your goal? Can you make your calorie deficit a little smaller and still lose? It's poos feeling hungry and you might feel tired 'cause you're not eating enough.

Could be wrong tho! Judging Fire-Rock's pic he might be onto something!!!

I just took a peak at your diary. You seem to really cluster your food. You eat some really small items and then have one giant meal of 800-1000 calories. I assuming that is dinner? You may want to try to have your food spread out more evenly. You also seem to have a lot of processed pre-made food. I know cooking is a luxury a lot of people don't have time for these days, but when you make it yourself, you know you're not wasting calories on crap, you can make sure the food and calories are good quality protein, fat and carbs that are going to keep you full and energized for longer. crock pots and big-batch meals that give a lot of left overs are a good option to make it a bit more practical.

    Thanks everyone.

Yeah, my evening meal has tended to cover 50%+ of my daily calories, although at weekends that can sometimes be lunch.

Another factor is that I've been regularly 200+ calories under goal each day, so perhaps that's catching up on me. My appetite was ok until this weekend, wasn't getting hungry despite eating that amount. Looking at weekly stats, I'm way down on my carbs, but sugars are often high, so I think I'll probably help myself my losing some of the sugar, and adding in more starchy carbs.

I'll definitely be taking a week's break from the diet anyway from saturday, becuase of various family gatherings etc, so we'll see how things go after that.

If being tired and hungry has only been going on for 2 days, it's really hard to know what might be the reason. It's possible you're not eating enough, it's possible you're not getting enough sleep, it's possible you're coming down with a virus, or you're experiencing stress. So many things it could be, but if you've been restricting your calories for quite a while, a diet break might not be a bad idea.

I'm not coming down with anything, but there's been a nasty cold floating around at home, and both my boys and I have had a nasty cough for a week or so, with today being the day I've felt the worst.

I've been on a deliberate deficit for about a month now, so taking a week or so off might not be a bad thing.

Maybe you're just hangry? It's totally ok to go on a little break, eat and rest and gather your strength to ramp up again. I hope you feel better really soon! :flowerforyou:
