Ok, I have found certain items that make me bloat like insane... White bread, eggs, crackers, white rice, noodles... Is this normal? My body just sucks everything in so hard. Would i be safe to eat 100% whole wheat or do you think it would make me bloat... i know Im going actually try wheat bread to see but just wondering other ppls opinions.

I just recently switched from white bread and white rice to 100% whole wheat bread and brown rice. I'm not 100% clear on this but I think the sodium content between white rice and brown rice is significantly different (brown rice having lower sodium) and that may be a cause of you bloating. Maybe check the sodium content between the two (the whole wheat bread and white bread) next time you are at the grocery store to see if there is a significant difference. Not sure what else could be causing the bloated feeling.
rice and crackers for sure have a high sodium content. Not sure about eggs and bread though. However, one thing I am sure of is that high levels of sodium definitely can definitely contribute to bloating.0 -
Well it could be the fact that the foods you mentioned are using enriched overly processed flour, or the plain fact that they are overprocessed foods to begin with.
Or it could be, rice being the exception, that there are eggs in it and your body has a hard time digesting them. Hard to say.
I would suggest trying "whole grain" pastas and breads for a while and seeing if that doesn't help. And brown rice. Move on from there if you don't notice a difference.
Good luck!0 -
Sometimes bloating can be caused by gluten allergy.....(not an MD, don't quote me) but I have friends that tried to cut gluten, or eat gluten free products, and feel much better!0

I was going to say the same thing. Go Whole Grain.0

try ezekiel breads...found at healthfood stores or in the freezer section of the organic aisle at stop & shop...really natural whole grains, not processed. Some whole wheat breads are processes and have additives...try an all natural variety. Good luck!0

Eggs? I never had that with Eggs. How do you cook them? Have you tried 2 tbsp of Extra Virgin Olive Oil (instead of butter) and some Mrs Dash (season with no MSG instead of salt)?0

That is my suggestion as well. It doesn't explain the egg thing, unless you are so sensitive, even to the grain that the chickens laying them are fed...but that might be stretching it. You should consult an allergist who can test you for specific food allergies, then see a nutritionist who can guide you towards an appropriate diet/nutrition plan.
And not eating white bread, white rice or white pasta is not a bad thing!0
