Compliments, Do they motivate you???

My husband & I have been married 14yrs & I know for those that see us everyday the changes in our appearance aren't quite as obvious. However the last 2 weeks my husband has made comments about my weightloss & it is a HUGE motivation for me! The first comment was as we were wrestling (I know childish  ) & he picked me up. His immediate reaction was GEEZ lightweight! I couldn't believe my ears, I haven't been told that in years! The following week as we were talking about MFP & how helpful success stories are. I told him I noticed my "love handles" are going away. He said yea, your boney. Please note at my last weigh in a few weeks ago I was 177 & at 5'5.5 that is FAR FROM BONEY! He clarified by saying I'm just not use to you being so small. Again, music to my ears :drinker: I still have several pounds to lose but comments like this make getting my workouts in & counting calories so much easier! Curious if others comments help motivate you or do you settle & change your goals?

My husband is awesome as well. We usually never talk about how much we're losing or how much skinnier we look, because we see each other all the time and the changes are not so noticeable. But lately he's all the time saying that I'm tiny now XD literally, ALL the time. It's like the last 10 pounds lost really made a huge difference in how i look.

At this point of my journey (almost over) it doesn't exactly motivate me(because i don't feel i need motivation anymore), but it does make me feel good about having decided to go through this long process. The results are visible and i feel great and that's awesome
So since i still have to get used to having compliments directed at me (i'm not particularly pretty so it's not like i've had many compliments about my appearance in my life) i'm enjoying them. One day people will get bored and used to seeing me "tiny" and they won't say them anymore. I'm enjoying them while they last!

I struggle when people give me compliments. I tend to follow with a negative comment about myself. MFPal gave me a tip to follow up with a simple thank you. Anytime I think something negative I get it out of my head and replace it with a positive. It's not 100% where I'd like to be but I'm getting there. I have a horrible time when my hubby says nice things. I think it drives me nuts that I won't believe him.

For me compliments do motivated me, when it comes to myself I am my worse critique, at times you see the change, but do not think anything of it. When you get a compliment by family memeber or even people that have seen you at the gym it makes you feel GREAT!! People do see the change even though at times you feel no one sees it since they don't tell you. Trust me they do! It makes me feel good and gives me the drive to keep pushing and motivating others!! So keep it up your doing a great job :)
