Apple Cider Vinegar

So I heard a woman at the gym saying that she does apple cider vinegar shots- one in the early morning before her work out and one shot about half way through the day and that it helps loose weight and have a lot of energy. I haven't ever heard I this and just the thought grosses me out.... Vinegar really? Anyway I've been reading a little on line and it says to dilute it and not drink it straight. Has anyone done this and actually lost weight? How does it make you feel? Do you dilute it with water?... If so how much?
Please help cause I'm considering trying this .

There is no scientific evidences that supports it. It's no different that raspberry ketones, acai berry or any other magical pill. It's all calories in vs out.

ps- if it sounds too good to be true, it is.

I like it on salad, but I always have, even when I was steadily gaining weight. I can't imagine that swigging it is very good for your teeth.

Bottom line: it's not "the answer" you're looking for.

Calories in, calories out...caloric deficits make you lose weight. Unless you just really love cider vinegar, I'd pass...though I do cook with it a lot.

Seriously? You want to drink Vinegar? Diluted or not, that would make me vomit!

Too good to be true? Yes? Ok then.

    From the Mayo Clinic's website:

    http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/apple-cider-vinegar-for-weight-loss/AN01816

and if the link is tl:dr, I'll paste the summary statement:

" Although occasional use of apple cider vinegar is safe for most people, it won't likely lead to weight loss — and it may pose problems of its own. For example:

Apple cider vinegar is highly acidic. It may irritate your throat if you drink it often or in large amounts.
Apple cider vinegar may interact with certain supplements or drugs, including diuretics and insulin. This may contribute to low potassium levels."
  • It helps revive vegetables in your fridge but I don't drink it.

Wow, so negative. Apple Cider Vinegar is an old folk remedy for a lot of things. First of all, the taste isn't THAT bad, and the reason she loses weight is because Apple Cider Vinegar is an appetite suppressant. You dilute it heavily in a glass of water and only put two teaspoons in. I sometimes forget to drink it, but I do occasionally drink it in a glass of water, though not to help weight loss. Try not to knock something until you've actually tried it, eh?

We still live in the real physical universe where there are no magic pills or potions for weightloss.

You don't need an appetite suppressant if you are eating the right foods. Foods high in protein and fats, especially whole natural meats, will provide you plenty of satiety. And it's easy to knock something that isn't backed by science. And you even stated yourself that it didn't help with weight loss.. so just another reason to knock it.

I use it in place of regular white distilled in salad dressings or marinades...I'm not drinking straight acid. But thanks!

It's not for weight loss per say but its supposed to help with digestion. I drink two tablespoons in about 8 oz of water with two packets of Stevia at night before bed. I have lost weight while doing this but I think its more from me busting my A@$ at the gym and running the trails than drinking the ACV! I also use it to make my salad dressing (1 Tbsp Plus 1 Tbsp of olive oil and 1/2 Table spoon of spaghetti seasoning)

real apple cider vinegar has probiotics which is good for you. But i don't know why it's more beneficial than yogurt or anythign else iwth probiotics and i'm not sure how it aids in weight loss.

that being said, if you are compelled to do it, I recommend fire cider. YUM. We do shots of that at our house during flu season.
