How long after giving birth was it okay to have sex?

So long story short I got into a debate with a friend about when its okay to have sex again after child birth. She has a daughter through c-section and she said that in 2 weeks she was fine. I dont have children but I've always heard that there is a wait time until you can continue again, which is usually 4 to 6 weeks with an okay from your doctor. I think 2 weeks is crazy and not enough time to fully heal. After going through so much trauma in that area 2 weeks would be very awkward and painful especially for a vagina birth. What do you think?
