Logging Exercise

I had a stroke a little over two weeks ago. I have been going through some serious physical therapy which consists of mainly calisthenics. i am beginning to second guess how i have been logging my exercise. Before "the incident", it was easy to figure out how much I burned based on the output and the effort put forth my activity. Now after "the incident", I am putting forth much greater effort and only getting very marginal results. What do you think? Do I log based on the effort, results, or somewhere in between?

Log it based on steady, elevated HR and workload as those are the things that impact calorie burn. If your HR is inconsistent (high for 20 seconds, low for 40, etc), then that will lower your overall burn. If the workload is low (low weight/resistance), that will lower your burn. Effort or perceived exertion are not generally good gauges.0
