Adding fruit and veggies.

Ok, so I've been huge on calorie counting for a very long time. I have notebooks full of pages of every calorie I've ate. Give me a meal and before I eat it I'll figure out each calorie and how much it is. I have lately though have not been adding my fruits and veggie calories to my eating tracker because I think it's a waist of time. A calorie is a calorie, but I have a huge problem with getting my numbers above 1200 at the most. I don't write them in, because I think I wouldn't want to write down 40 calories for a small apple or 70 for a banana. Is that weird? Does anyone else do this? I don't feel like it's cheating on my diet if it's just not adding the fruit or veggies in it.... I just don't want to see my numbers go up because of the fruit or veggies which sounds stupid as I think about it, but would appreciate some feedback.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I log it all....a calorie is indeed a calorie. I know plenty of people who eat all kinds of fruit and vegetables who are overweight...they wonder why, because after all...they're eating fruit and vegetables. Doesn't matter...it's still math. Surplus = Gain; Deficit = Loss.0

Well firstly, an apple is more like 90, and a banana probably over 100. So the calories are not negligible. More importantly, the sugar is not negligible.
So it you're going to count calories, count them all, including fruit. There isn't anything magical about it which means the calories don't count.0 -
Just because you don't want a small apple to be 40 calories or a banana to be 70 calories, doesn't mean that they aren't.
Fruits and veggies have calories. If you eat at a surplus and only eat those foods, you will still gain weight. You're only cheating yourself by not counting them. I also don't know why you wouldn't count them since you say you have trouble reaching 1200 anyway.
By the way, reaching 1200 calories isn't difficult. Try eating more calorie dense foods rather than a lot of low calorie foods.0
