If you're eating at a deficit, you'll lose weight. Any and all exercise is always good. Do what you find interesting and/or enjoy! Be it cardio or strength. I would suggest a combo of both.

A deficit means that your eating below maintenance, which would cause you to lose weight.

You don't need equipment to do cardio. You can walk, jog, run.

Calorie deficit is what causes weight loss. Strength training helps you to keep lean muscle while doing it. Cardio helps to increase calories burned and improves cardiovascular system. Ideally, doing both is the way to go.

You dont need cardio calorie deficit is what is important. That said I would do the strength stuff like bench press, overhead press, row, pullups, dips, squats, deadlifts.

diet (noun) for weight loss/weight control...exercise for fitness. Cardio is like like body building for the heart and lungs...you need the strength training to maintain/build muscle. Health and fitness is a package deal

Cardio can get you a long way to your goal (and if you aren't significantly overweight, all the way to your goal), BUT.....

Basic strength and core strengthening exercises seems to have or add a synergistic effect with cardio. That is true whether you are young like you or an old guy like me. I think I Iearned that a number of years ago when I was turning and burning down the slopes of Colorado or Utah. It was one thing to have endurance it was another to have it with power.

Then do more intense stuff. Light intensity anything will take you forever to impact your fat loss goals. Try to use as many muscles as possible simultaneously, you will need to add weight with squats and lunges fairly quickly. Plank and press ups are great if done with good technique, risky on the spine if not. Whilst a good part of a balanced routine, yoga and pilates are unlikely to make much difference, you won't burn many calories and you won't build much muscle.
