I know im not the only one who buys meat from the deli/meat dept. at the supermarket. But I can rarely find it in the database. Is there a special way to word it? I made a recipe tonight using ground chicken breast from the meat dept. tonight. I typed in ground chicken breast and all that pops up is like Foster Farms brand, Mba (whatever that is), Purdue, "generic",....many with no confirmations. I don't know which to use!

Ask the deli person if they have an old label.
I some times take the info in to my phone for a later use of the meat I got.
I have found that I had to add some of the meats I get from my deli.
Could you post the kind or type you get?

Um... Generic is basically for when you don't have or know a brand... It's basically like leaving the box where you write the brand blank.

But you could always check the different brands and pick one that's somewhere in the middle with calories.

Do you weigh your food? Cause portion sizes are pretty much impossible to know as well, but some entries have the weight of the food as a "portion" option, like 100 grams, 10 ounces whatevs.

This. Ask the person behind the counter if they can pull out the side / full package of meat and snap a pic of the nutrition label with your cellphone - then you can input the data yourself.

Some meats here on the price sticker they will also include the % protein which is at least a starting point

You can ask the deli person for an food label and/or try putting in boars head( which is a deli meat brand) to get an idea.

Raw, unprocessed meats like chicken breast are pretty generic. Just check a few entries and take an average.
